Boob tubing

So we went tubing over the weekend down the Tallapoosa River. Great times had by all! There was quite a large group of us that went which was nice since there were some old friends that I haven't had time to spend with and some new faces that I always welcome too. So we are gone from 11am till 7pm. Needless to say we were tired, but not so much from all the tubing, but more from all the "excitement" that we had earlier in the day. Now, Saturday was a pretty rainy day so it rained off and on all day. We were also "smart" enough to stop for lunch under some powerlines while the heavens fell out on us. Shockingly, no one was struck by lightening. After lunch we kept going down the river. The second half of the day was much more difficult in terms of rocks and logs and very shallow water so needless to say we were up and down in our tubes ALOT! At one point, I decided to lay on my stomach so my backside could enjoy some sun. Well, the rocks hurt worse that way so I decide to get back on my back but when I did, my top came down!!! You wanna talk about making instance friends? I was MORTIFIED!!!! There were a few who got quite the show! After apologizing for my accident, I didn't want to look at anyone. Have you ever had that moment where if you could crawl under a rock you would? That was my moment. It's definitely one for the records...

You work here?

So I went down to Locust Grove to the Outlets with my friend Tara to do a little shopping over the weekend. I mentioned that I wanted to get a new "smoother" for my middle section so we hopped into Lane Bryant to see what they had. We make our way through all of the over priced items, which I have a problem with them being so over priced just because we are a little more healthy than the rest of the world, and make it to the register. I put my "smoother" on the counter to pay for it and see this sized 2 little 17 year old girl. I said "You work here?" She smiled and said yes. Now why in the world are you hiring a skinny girl to work up in Lane Bryant? I know we are in a recession, but dang! She made me want to go eat a doughnut! I just feel that there are some places that certain people should not be allowed to work. That's all.

The past = The future?

Have you ever wondered if you are a better person today than what you were in the past? I was pondering that to myself at lunch today while having a conversation with the ladies about high school days. I would like to think that I'm a good girl with good moral values and a great personality. I think I put others first before myself, and truly try to be a good person in all aspects. But think about the times where you have to stand your ground, so to speak, and really tell it like it is. Did you really handle it in a manner that you can look back on and say that you have no regrets with your decisions? Sometimes a reflection on your past can mold you into what you want to be in the future. Just as simple as that. :)

Men play worse than women

I'm not too sure where I meet the men that I do but it seems like I find the weakest of men. I met a guy who was my friends brother. He is SMOKIN HOT and really seemed like a nice guy. He has a son and is no longer in the relationship with his son's mother which has really left him somewhat lonely. We talked about how he really wanted a relationship and that he thought he would never find someone that is good for him and his son. Not to mention, all the flirting that went on over the weekend, but he really seemed like a sincere guy who would look past the outer person and would want to get to know me on the inside.
Now, I still can't figure out why I do the things that I do, but when he went home I decided, after a few drinks, to email him and let him know that I would like to get to know him better and would like to see if I were something that he would be interested in. Now, I'm not usually as bold as this, but I really thought he was different. Well, I did what every 20 something girl does and sent him the email through facebook. It was a week later and no response. I spoke with his sister and she already knew what I had done. Apparently "good news" travels fast in Wisconsin. Oddly enough, he rsponded only to say no but had the nicest things to say like he was flattered but didn't do long distance relationships and that he appreciated my honesty and assertiveness and how he would love to be friends. So I think "Not a bad way to be rejected!"
I saw his sister a couple days after he responded and she had a TOTALLY different version of why he said no. She said that he liked more "quiet" girls and that, although he thought I was a pretty girl, I just wasn't his type. I mean cut me a break! How many times do I have to get it before I realize that guys will always just be shallow guys? I think if I was gutsy enough to put it out there and ask, then they should be man enough to tell me the truth. Yeah, I know the truth hurts but sometimes it's better than having false hope to save me from looking like the fool in the end.
